Here at The Rustic Coppice Company, we take charcoal making seriously.
British lumpwood charcoal is an amazing product, not only does it burn hotter for longer but it also helps to sustain your local woodland, and reduces your carbon footprint.
Charcoal has been made here in the uk for over 6000 years. Like the charcoal makers of old we add nothing to the charcoal other than time and love. It is naturally chemical free and easy to light.
We mix a range of native hardwood timber to produce a consistent controllable charcoal.
As a member of Hampshire Coppice Group we are Proud to be continuing this heritage craft.
All of our charcoal adears to the Hampshire standard for quality.
We use the tradional ring kilns to produce our charcoal.
The larger 6ft ring kiln is on long term loan from Three Copse Woodland Products
This allows us to produce bulk quantities of charcoal. The average burn time for the 6ft is 12-14hours with a 36-48hours cooling period.
We also run a mini kiln which allows us to be flexible especially with the weather.
Our mini kiln can be loaded an fired in around 10 hours and emptied the next day allowing us to supply quickly.
